The establishment was initially founded equally the New York School of Interior Decoration inwards 1916 yesteryear Sherrill Whiton. The advert changed to the New York School of Interior Design inwards 1951.
NYSID offers associate, baccalaureate, together with graduate degrees amongst enrollment of 539 students inwards Fall 2014. It is an accredited fellow member of the National Association of Schools of Art together with Design together with is a candidate for accreditation amongst Middle State Commission on Higher Education.
