Edward Waters College was initially founded inwards 1866 inwards Live Oak, FL equally Brown Theological Institute. It was affiliated amongst the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME). The mention was changed to Brown University inwards 1874 in addition to to Edward Waters College inwards 1892. The establishment moved the next yr to Jacksonville, FL.
